Attendance
Students are asked to arrive early for their lessons/classes
and bring all books and materials. Please make sure student is picked
up promptly upon completion of their lesson/class. For your child's
safety, we ask they wait for you inside the building. We request
you phone as early as possible if a class/lesson must be missed.
If the lesson /class is missed, your teacher will send a postcard
with a lesson assignment. Please note: a private lesson is just
that-a private lesson. You are reserving a lesson time with your
teacher. Lesson fees are not adjusted for student absences, such
as sporting events, parties, doctor and dental appointments, etc.
(Exception: death in the immediate family or extended illness) For
your convenience, in the case of teacher absence, the lesson fees
will be pro-rated or a make-up lesson will be scheduled at a mutually
convenient time. After a two week absence and no contact, the lesson
time will be considered available. As a courtesy, please contact
us for a student withdrawal.

Payment
All fees are due the first lesson or class of the month. If
payment is made by the 10th, a $10 discount will be applied. After
the first week, a reminder will be sent in the mail. If payment
is not made after the second lesson/class, contact will be made
by phone. If fees are not paid and payment arrangements have not
been made by week 3, lessons/classes will be suspended until payment
is received. Please leave payments in the drop box located in the
hallway on the wall. We also ask that you write the students' name
and the instructors' name on the bottom of the check. Before the
check is written, please look at the instructor's schedule posted
on the bulletin board in the hallway to make sure they will have
no expected absences. For private students - if the teacher had
an unexpected absence in the previous month, you may pro-rate that
lesson for the current month unless a make-up lesson has been pre-arranged.
Please pay for the number of lessons to be taught in the upcoming
month. Note: Be sure to check the Calendar.

Practice
Consistent practice time is expected of each student. Continual
reassignment of a piece or song would suggest the need for more
effective practice. Each student will progress as quickly as the
assigned material is sufficiently mastered. Since the lessons are
progressive, a piece is never passed until satisfactorily learned.
Each student will be provided a guideline for practice totals, based
upon age, level and other factors. Regular, concentrated, daily
practice and regular lessons will lead to a student's progress;
therefore receiving the maximum benefit from the program. Parental
involvement is an often over-looked, but very necessary component
of the learning process. Younger children especially need "hands-on"
parental help and encouragement.
