General Policies
Attendance
Students are asked to arrive early for their lessons/classes and bring all books and materials. Please make sure student is picked up promptly upon completion of their lesson/class. For your childs safety, we ask they wait for you inside the building. We request you phone as early as possible if a class/session must be missed. If the lesson/class is missed, your teacher will send a post card and/or input to the computer lesson progress and assignment. All students will have a user name and password to access this information. Please note: a private lesson is just that-a private lesson. You are reserving a lesson time with your teacher. Lesson fees are not adjusted for student absences, such as sporting events, parties, doctor and dental appointments, etc. All teachers have their own make-up policy. One make-up lesson day is scheduled each semester, in the case of teacher absence. After a two week absence, no contact and fees unpaid, the lesson time will be considered available. Notification will be sent via mail as a confirmation. As a courtesy, please contact us for a student withdrawal.
Payment
Payments are due at the first of every month. Amounts will not change from month to month. No fees will be pro-rated due to absences. Saturday, December 5th is the Fall make-up lesson day for teacher absences. At the end of December, all accounts will be reconciled and credit vouchers will be issued due to any teacher absences that were not rescheduled. At the end of May, all accounts will be reconciled again and credit vouchers or refund checks will be issued for teacher absences only. If payment is made by the 10th, a $10 discount will be applied. After the first week, a reminder will be sent. If payment is not made after the second lesson/class, we will attempt to make contact. . If fees are not paid and payment arrangements have not been made by week 3, lessons/classes will be suspended until payment is received. Please leave payments in the drop box located in the hallway on the wall. Payment may also be mailed, left in the mailbox or slipped under the door if before or after business hours. We also ask that you write the students name and the instructors name on the bottom of the check. For easier payment, we now have a PayPal account. They do charge a small service fee for this convenience.
Practice
Consistent practice time is expected of each student. Continual reassignment of a piece or song would suggest the need for more effective practice. Each student will progress as quickly as the assigned material is sufficiently mastered. Since the lessons are progressive, a piece is never passed until satisfactorily learned. Each student will be provided a guideline for practice totals, based upon age, level and other factors. Regular, concentrated, daily practice and regular lessons will lead to a students progress; therefore receiving the maximum benefit from the program. Parental involvement is an often over-looked, but very necessary component of the learning process. Younger children especially need hands on parental help and encouragement.

All students need to speak with their instructor regarding materials needed for their specific class or lesson. All books, materials and accessories can be purchased from the NAC. Students are responsible for purchasing necessary items prior to the beginning of their lesson or class.
